About Elin
Elin Jensen (SWE) is a vinyasa teacher (E-RYT 500) based in the seaside town of Båstad, southern Sweden. Elin teaches at her studio YOGALITO (co-owned with Sara Kristensen) in Båstad, as well as at retreats, workshops and trainings in Sweden and beyond. She also teaches online here. Elin’s vinyasa yoga is strong, steadily paced, mindfully sequenced and designed to prepare each individual body and mind to safely take on new challenges with a playful edge. She thrives off of the privilege to guide into full bloom what every yogi already has: a powerful body with infinite possibilities.
Elin balances yoga with family life (Californian husband and two children) and a parallell career as a Branding and Marketing Consultant. She has been teaching yoga since 2007 and has logged thousands of hours of yoga teacher trainings, workshops and education. In addition to teaching yoga, Elin is passionate about raising the level of professionalism, quality and skill amongst yoga teachers. She has created the workshop concept Branding & Marketing for Yoga Teachers, and has a strong interest in pedagogics, communications, leadership and psychology in relation to the craft of teaching yoga.

In her own words
"I think most people would describe me as a positive, patient person with a loud and frequent giggle. It wasn’t always like this. In the past I was pretty crass – honestly I didn't even like most people.
Yoga hasn't made me a better person, I want to make that clear. Yoga has made me a stronger and more flexible person. Life (i.e. growing up, throwing up, falling over, growing older, travelling, staying put, getting disappointed, being desired, being dumped, losing friendships, giving birth, saying good-bye, accepting pain, feeling pride, that sort of thing) is what made me more patient. That being said it seems that if you embrace the world of yoga into your life it appears to speed up the process of becoming a balanced human. It could be that ancient tradition of reflection. Or coming across all the shimmering believers in lunar magic, healing crystals, chakra alignment and cleansing rituals. So at the end of the day, I am incredibly grateful that I went to my first class back in 1996, said yes to substituting a class in 2006, took various teacher trainings, and decided to share the practice of yoga in my community for the last 12 years.
Vinyasa is my yoga of choice. To me, it's the yoga of rebels and artists, the yoga of creativity, change and rhythm. I like that. I identify with that. Maybe it's because of my dream of being that welder/dancer in Flashdance. Maybe it's because I sailed on tall ships and danced in the rigging through swells and storms across the Atlantic and South Pacific.
I have no guru and no main teacher in that traditional yoga sense. But I can drop a lot of names that won't impress you. Names of people who have shaped me and everything that comes out of my mouth. Stina. Östen. Aina. Bob. Lao. Ellen. Lotten. Anna. Rico. Evan. Lonnie. Blair. Erin. Morris. Pernilla. Lisa. Nora May.
When it comes to yoga I fuel up on anyone who has something genuine and real to offer, no matter who and where. The way I teach is influenced by that church like sweaty community energy at YogaTree SF at Castro, by the pedagogic skills of Jason Crandell and the graceful Prana Flow lineage of Shiva Rea – but it's one hundred percent me. I love seeing yogis tap into the physical strength and potential they already have, and in a way my ultimate goal with teaching yoga is that nobody will need me to guide them at all.
I run and operate the small-town studio Yogalito in Båstad, southwest Sweden with my sweet friend Sara. I also run teacher trainings under the name True North Vinyasa, mainly based out of Portugal, with super woman Lisa. I run the leadership and outdoor/yoga concept Elevation Leadership with my talented friend Pernilla. Most of my projects are collaborations of some sort, due to the fact that so many people are so much better than me at so many things. Alongside with teaching yoga I have worked my whole life with words, layout and branding/marketing strategies in tourism and hospitality. I also like to renovate houses, hike in the forest and the mountains, lap swim in outdoor pools, cook, eat, drink wine, see new places, see familiar faces, eat dark chocolate and sleep."
